i thank God for...

i thank God for my country, malaysia.
though not perfect but still precious to God.

i thank God for my family.
for their love and support.

i thank God for school and form 6.
and for helping me see purpose in it.

i thank God for the christian fellowship in my school.
and all that He is doing in our midst.

i thank God for church,
for the body of Christ and the marvelous things He is doing.

i thank God for His mercy & grace.
that gets me through everyday.

i thank God for the friends and people around me, who are so precious.
for the smiles and laughs they bring into my life.

i thank God for His Word.
and how it speaks into my life and teaches me.

i thank God for nature.
for all the gorgeous things He created.

i thank God for loving me.
no matter how lousy i may be.

i thank God for providing.
that i have enough.

i thank God for being my comforter.
for being there when i needed Him.

i thank God for watching over me.
and for all the times He saves me.

i thank God for always helping me out,
out if the messes and tangles i get myself into.

i thank God for His forgiveness.
cause i know i really need it.

i thank God for His promises.
promises i know will last and come to pass.

i thank God for His wisdom.
that knows what's best.

i thank God for life.
that i can live it.

i thank God for every day.
that He is with me through the good ones and the bad ones too.

i thank God for everything.
everything, because there's just too much to thank God for.
and i know that everything i have comes from God.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him,
who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

God has been working out a lot of things in my life lately. and i'm amazed at how things turn out because God intervenes in the situations i am in. i'm amazed at how He still helps to untangle the tangles i've made of my life even though i've messed up like a billion gazillion times. i'm amazed, simply amazed.

Thank You, Lord.

hanging on to love

PPBC Youth Camp 2008
26th Dec - 28th Dec 2008

in short - life changing.

this was our church's first ever youth camp. and it was beyond what we ever expected, beyond what we prayed and yearned for, beyond our simple mindsets. because God is beyond all that, God is above all.

to be honest, i was struggling all the way to camp. struggling with disappointments, struggling with frustrations, struggling with fear, struggling with inadequacy, struggling with pride, struggling with myself, struggling with so much. so so much.

and at camp, God just simply told me to rest. to stop trusting in my own abilities, stop trusting in myself but to trust in Him. it was really hard, i questioned myself, why was i like martha in the story of mary and martha? why was i so anxious about how the camp was being run and what needed to be done, when the rest of the committee were so laid back. was i trusting God lesser than they did? did they have more faith than me? and as i asked and asked, all He said was 'I will bring you out of this complacency, i will bring you out of these boundaries, out of this comfort zone. just wait and see.' it was an amazing promise but i still struggled.

the next day was when God showed us His splendour, His majesty, His unfailing love, and His power. no amount of practices and plannings could have done what God came and did. He touched our hearts, our lives. it wasn't just the surface, it wasn't just the feelings and emotions; it went deep into our lives, into our pasts, our present and our future. wow, right?

we laid down burdens at God's feet, we tore down strongholds in our lives, we seeked forgiveness from others, we experienced love - God's love.

i enjoyed camp. and it changed my life.

and i believe that 2009 will be even more exciting, God will be doing even more. God will be touching even more lives, calling people unto Him. and i'm just anticipating to see what's next. i have no idea, but one thing i know is that no amount of human planning and wisdom can amount to what God has done and will be doing!

All for love a Father gave
For only love could make a way
All for love heavens cried
For love was crucified

Oh how many times have I broken Your heart
But still You forgive
If only I ask
And how many times have You heard me pray
Draw near to me

Everything I need is You
My beginning, my forever
Everything I need is You

Let me sing all for love
I will join the angel song
Ever holy is the Lord
King of Glory
King of all

All for a love a Saviour prayed
Abba Father have Your way
Though they know not what they do
Let the Cross draw man to You

it's already a new year, and 2008 has been an adventure with Christ. a walk through the wilderness where God turned my life upside down and showed me how much i needed Him, and then there was National Service where He showed me that all i could hang on was Him and then He took me into form 6, super faith testing. but by His grace i know He is in control.

2008 has been exciting and 2009 will be more than that. just wait and see!

Dear Lord,
Thanks for the year that has passed
and for always walking with me through it all.

Thank You for the love poured out into my life.
And Lord, this year, i commit it all unto You.
What was, what is and what is yet to come.
i just want to walk with You everyday of it
and just experience Your love.

i love You :)

Happy New Year!
