Thankful

I will be graduating this year :) Praise the Lord! Just got my results for my final semester and all is well. I thank God for His faithfulness and grace in carrying me through. Am reminded of the tears I shed and the struggles I had throughout the semester but also the assurances He gave through His word and the encouragement and love He brought through people. Thank you, God.

After our final paper :) Real relief! SELFIE!
So right after exams ended, had about a week's break then it was East Asia Regional Conference (EARC) 2014 in Port Dickson. So much to take in but I believe it was most timely as I come to the crossroads of "What Next?" in my life. Probably one of the most asked questions as I finish my undergraduate life, which I'm not too sure how to answer either :\ It calls me that whatever I do with my life, it must always be centred upon Christ and the gospel. It's a mission to bridge the gap between God's vision and the state of reality in our world today. The theme was "Awesome God. E.P.I.C. Generation". EPIC standing for - Engaging, Passionate, Incarnational, and Christlike. What we as Christians are called to in today's society. I met people from different countries, backgrounds, tongues and cultures and as we shared our stories and lives with each other, I saw that we all live in a broken world. My country and society has its problems and so does theirs. No perfect system, no complete justice and righteousness, and that is the state our world is in. But, we all hope in God, we all trust in God, we all yearn to see His glory manifest in the places He has given to us as our homelands, our countries. And that encourages me to keep pursuing Him, to keep our eyes on God, and to be shining lights to our nations.

My small group during the conference. Thank you each one for sharing your lives <3 td="">
I had a getaway graduation trip with Shalini, Danny and Vindy to Krabi, Thailand. And it was beautiful :) The sun, sand, and sea. Though the sea was being very very rough as it was the monsoon season. We still had fun and enjoyed it :) I want to go back. Much happened (some good and some bad) and we made do the best we could with what we had. What happens in Krabi, stays in Krabi :P

Beauty :)
Travel companions and some of the best people I've had as course mates in the past four years :)
Am now in Tronoh with the parents. Time to unwind and prepare for what's next. I'll tell you as soon as I know what that is. :) Have a good day!

alive!

And that marks the end of the sixth semester (conveniently omitting the fact that there's four papers to sit for :P) which is also the end of my third year in university :)

This semester got pretty mad towards the end, with deadlines and especially the academic project. In the end, through much tears and prayer, coffee and late nights, regrets and rants, this was the product:

Pride and Joy :) Thank You, Lord
"Motivation and Attitudes of Myanmar Refugee Students towards Learning English"
:)
Some of those who were there with me through it all. Thank you, Joyce and Deborah :) there's a long list of people who I've been blessed to have with me along the way; parents, brothers, course mates, friends here and there and also a very special boy. :)

This guy :)
Not the best picture of us :\ But this was our getaway trip after I finished up my thesis. Yay!
Thanks, Ernest for being there for me, praying with and for me and for all the help you gave. I love you :)
Went for church camp in Melaka on Friday right after handing up my academic project :) Such a relief! It was nice being together with the others in camp. Catching up here and there, hanging out and serving together. Helped with the kids this year :) And though they are the cutest, they're also not the easiest bunch to handle. We made a tree of the characteristics of love, made flags and had water battles :D

:)

The Tree of Love :D

Only joined one session :) And that was about transformation in Christ. A Christian life transformed by Christ should exhibit: Humility, Holiness and Harmony. It was a timely reminder of what a life transformed by Christ is like.

Today as I read Roman 8, I was reminded what it is to live in Christ. It's definitely a struggle between our flesh and the Spirit. But it is a struggle we need to go through in order that we may have life in Christ.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:5-6

There are times when I feel really dead, days when I dread waking up and just lie in bed for a few extra minutes. And I realize it's cause I've been so caught up in the flesh and the world. So worried about the day that it wears me out just thinking of it. I find myself putting my hope in things that do not last, putting so much into things that have no eternal value. :( And I walk away tired and lost.

It helps to have Christians brothers and sisters spurring us on. Helps to read the Word which speaks truths that contradict what the world tells us. It helps to pray, to turn our eyes and hearts to God who is above all. Yes, it more than helps. In fact, it is essential to a Christian's growth in this world. And all this only by His grace that we are alive in Christ :)

Anyway, exams are coming and my teaching practice starts next Monday! Time flies and each passing day brings me closer to the day I will meet my Lord :) As for now, I shall live each day in Him, for Him and through Him.

And this is where I'm hanging out at today :) Where Yew Leung is working at: espressolab, One Utama :)

His cafe latte :P Haha, asked him to draw a peacock, came out looking like ermm, King Julian from Madagascar. Stirred it and drew myself a star, hee. Yew Leung says he pandai to draw hearts :) Ngaw.

Till another day :) Byee!

T.H.E. Camp 2012

a little overdue. but better late than never :)

camp was God's grace right from the preparations before camp, during camp and right up till today. I pray that the fire still stays in our hearts and that it would burn brightly.

it was encouraging to see each person come and be a part of the camp. the camp committee really did a good job and i think God also opened the way as we trusted in Him. He provided a venue, provided the speaker, Pastor Daniel Tan, and most importantly, He called the people :) in about less than three weeks.

there were times of uncertainties and stress along the way; money, payments, sponsorship, pull outs, etc. but God proved to be sovereign over these things. no problem too big for Him :)

I enjoyed the fellowship with the people :) getting to know some better as well as strengthening the old friendships. there was a sense of unity and genuine relationships built. camps have that ability to bring people together :) and I pray that these friendships continue to grow throughout our uni years.

That's our theme for this year. N.O.W. It's to remind us of the urgent times we live in. Pastor Daniel did a great job with the sessions. He began with very fundamental things for our faith in the first session about "Hearing God's Voice". Because when we are in a two way communication with God personally and intimately, we will know His will. He gave very practical ways to this. First knowing how God speaks: through the Word of God, prayer, Holy Spirit, people, dreams and visions, circumstances, and sometimes in the audible voice :| (whoa, i wonder what that would be like). He taught us then how do we listen to God's voice? We need to take on the right postures: Seek, Surrender (humility), Silent (to listen), Stay (to wait and dwell in His presence) and to have hearts that are like good Soil (hearing and obeying the word).

The second session was about the Narrow Way which echoes our theme that there is no other way but through Christ. There's the Broad way and the Narrow way.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Matthew 7:13-14
It was a reminder that we cannot live our lives any way we want or do things just because the world is doing it. It meant living in Christ, following His word rather than the word of the world. Muuuch easier said than done, but we do not walk alone, nor do we walk by our own strength. God grants grace for us to finish the race, to walk this journey with Him. The narrow way is only possible through Christ :)

The third session was entitled "Disturb Us, Lord". It challenged us to live for a cause that is bigger than ourselves. To look beyond "me" and to look to God. When God disturbs us from our comfortable and safe lives, how do we respond? Taking the encounter of the first calling of the disciples in Luke 5:1-11, where Jesus came into the boat of Peter, taught the crowds from it and later told him to put out to sea and let down their nets for a catch after a loooong night of catching no fish. When Peter obeyed, they caught a crazy amount of fish. This opened his eyes and he fell at Jesus' feet knowing that Jesus was more than just a man. Jesus then calls Peter to follow Him and that He would make them fishers of men. Peter left all he had and followed Jesus. Our response, when God comes into our lives and rocks our boats is to start small - obey. Jesus came into their boats and told Peter to 'put out a little from land', God doesn't always come in all His glory with a mission impossible task right away to us. It's when we start obeying Him in the little things that He then gives us bigger tasks. He knows how much we can handle. We then need to go deep! Jesus told Peter to go deep and to let down their nets for a catch. Peter's answer was, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at your word word I will let down the net." He was listening to Jesus teaching the crowds prior to this and because of that, it gave him the faith to obey. We need the word of God in our lives, to convict us to go deeper than we normally would, to try again even after a whole night of catching nothing. The last thing is to surrender all. Right after catching the mother load of fishes, their eyes weren't fixed on their success, instead their eyes were fixed on Jesus. It was a reminder to us not to let our success take us away from God. Humility. So, start small, go deep, surrender all.

The final session was about How do we Shine? Pastor Daniel brought us back to the point and purpose of the church. He said the church is the hope for the world. The world can only see Jesus through us. No other way; only through us.
Let your light shine before all men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
How do we shine? Be genuine, let people see Christ in our lives. Don't just do things so that we can preach to them. Don't do things with ulterior motives. But love, because Christ first loved us. Love because that is what God calls us to do; to love God and to love others. Give what you have, not what you don't have. We'll never start if we keep saying, "Let me have this first, then I will..." or "I don't have anything to give." Give what you have :) God is able to provide for our needs. We need to stretch out our hands and lift others up. We need to touch lives, not just meet their physical needs. The human being is more than a body, it has a soul. People need acceptance and freedom for their souls. Lives are never transformed by silver or gold, but by the touching of the human soul. So, let's go and shine our lights. :) Pastor Daniel said, "You say 'turn on the light' and 'turn off the light' but no one says 'turn on darkness'. Light always conquers darkness. It's when the light doesn't shine, that's where darkness is."

Let your light shine :) We live in urgent times. May all who see our lights, come to God.

Dear God, thank You for camp, for Your word spoken and each and every person. Thank You for the work You have done in our lives. Help us to continue running the race and going through the narrow way with You and with the people You have brought alongside us. May we continue to spur and encourage one another until we reach our goal. You are our goal. Lord, I pray that we will have the same love and passion You have for others in our lives that we would see the world through Your eyes. Commit each one who was a part of T.H.E. Camp 2012 into Your hands and pray that You continue draw us close to You. In Jesus Name, Amen :)

coffee moments

so, i've developed a thing since Camp Camerons to go for coffee on my Sabbath day (usually Sundays), on my own, with my bible and journal, and go on a date with God :) it's been pretty insightful, to look back on the week and chit chat with God about the things that happened, what made me happy, what broke my heart, what distracted me, what was my focus, what i learned, finding out what He thinks, or what He wants me to change and to do, seeking His perspective and His will, etc. i come back a lot more refreshed and orientated for the coming days.

this morning, i looked back on my past three months of break. and it's crazy how time has just flies by. this Monday, i start my first semester of my third year :| a new phase in university, new responsibilities, new challenges, new lives, new relationships, etc. but i look back and i do thank God very much for the old and for the things that have been happening.

this holidays began with PKVUM's CPR in Joanne's house in Melaka with the whole committee (Timothy, Joanne, Noah, Joyce, Abbie, Sarah, Philemon, Deborah, Daniel Hiew, Daniel Wong, Tien Mie) and our FES staff, Swee Kit and David.

we makan makan makan, went to jongker's street, ribut otak (brainstormed) for themes and objectives and for the coming semester ahead, we worshiped, prayed, shared and played :) it was a good time of getting to know each other, bonding and learning to work together as a team, as a family.

then Camp Camerons 2012 - Give me life in Thy ways.

lots of unforgettable moments with the people at this camp. three weeks of being at this "bus stop" where we did a stop and check of our lives. learned a lot about myself (the good and the bad) but even more than that once again experiencing the unconditional love and abounding grace of God.

a start of something new with a very special someone by the name of Ernest Lee.

meet Ernest :)
he couldn't resist that single promo :P hahahaha (just kiddingg..)

an adventure over at Deborah's beautiful land below the wind, Sabah. with Lydia and Brandon. lovely times with lovely people. :)

a two days escapade and tell all journey with Sue Ann to Melaka. went down to visit Sue Ann's grandma who is the cutest and funniest grandma i've met :) had tons of melaka goodness - chicken rice ball under the tree, cendol, ice cream, etc. am going to miss this girl as she begins her journey as an undergraduate in USM, Penang. take care over there, dear.

weddings and weddings :) Daniel & Nie Nie and Reuben & Lisa. ngaaawwwww :)

daniel and nie nie :)

reuben and lisa :)

also, have been meeting up with different groups of friends and spending more time with my family. and it's made me more appreciative of the people i have in my life.

i learned many things about myself these holidays. a lot of character flaws, ugly sides, and so on. things i need to work on, change, throw out, refine. all under God's grace and mercy. being transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit as i come before Him in surrender. having Ernest in my life has also taught me a lot about trust and truth, taught me more about loving one another.

i am so humbled by the grace and love shown to me by others. by the ones who have been hurt by me over the years, but who choose to forgive and still love me. i know i've lost some people along the way, and that i do regret :( i am grateful for those who give me the plain truth, even though it hurts and stings, but like bitter medicine, it's for the better. a lot of times i don't know how to go on with the relationship after that, but i guess character changing and refining isn't usually a quick instant thing but a process of making a conscious effort to change. i ask God to fill me with His love and grace that i may be able to love and care for others like how He does.

so, this has been the holiday journey and as i prepare myself for another semester ahead, i am excited to journey with God in this, knowing that He is the author and the perfecter of my faith, of the story of my life :)

and to you out there, to my loved ones, thank you for being a part of my life, for being a part of this journey. i want to thank you and appreciate the marks and impressions you have left in my life, for making me who i am today. although very imperfect still, i am still in the process of sanctification and refining. i love you, very much.

have a blessed weekend! :)

Give me life in Thy ways

Hello, just got back (about a week ago) from Camp Camerons 2012. And it was a really good stop and check for my own life. Met some old friends and lots of new ones too and most of all built pretty meaningful relationships with people there :) Met a lot of amazing people there, each with his and her own story to tell.

It was three weeks long! Coming back from it, I do miss the times there.

But I believe all that happened there, all I've gone through and experienced, that there's a reason for all that and that reason is so that I can go on with life wherever I am living life in His ways. That's the whole point and purpose of life, I suppose.

I don't really know how to sum everything up in a blog post, it'll be a very very long one I foresee and that kind of makes me, uhh, avoid it. Oh, that's one thing I learnt about myself: I tend to avoid things. I really fear, dislike confrontations. But certain events at camp brought me to a place where I realized coming forth with the truth, apologies, thoughts and feelings, etc. was actually better as compared to the quiet tensions and awkwardness. It's something I've got to learn to do. To be truthful with the ones I love.

This is my family :) The Gad Family or The Gaddadites.

Really thank God for these people. We shared so much with each other over the days, got into areas of disagreements and sorts but worked it out. And I pray we continue to grow in our relationships and love for each other. Really thank God for each one. :)

Another thing I realized at camp was how I related to others. People. Lives. I think along the way, I just lost sight of how very precious each person in my life was. Along the way, I've hurt so many :( I need to learn to love all over again. To not harden my heart to others and also situations. To listen more and talk less. To love not only in words but through my actions. To care.

I actually really enjoyed the Sabbaths there, where we went off on our own and had hours and hours of silence with God. The place we were at, Chefoo Methodist Center, was really nice. The first week I found a spot on the hills where it was mossy and quite dry, I lay there looking at the blue sky and the trees before me. It was...wahh :) The second and third Sabbaths were spent walking around a bit more. Streams, grass, walls, trees, etc. The things I discovered and talked about with God really made me see how shortsighted I had been to many things in my life.

This camp for me was a lot of redeeming, a lot of correcting and learning to live and enjoy His presence once  again. I guess as we grow older and take on more and more responsibilities, we sometimes lose that joy and ability to be still with God. I know I did. I'd gotten so used to running around, doing this and that, to a point I grew pretty tired and disillusioned. But this stop at Camp Cameron really helped me get my bearings straight again. Thank God.

I come back with this name for God - My Father. The one who created me, who knows me, who loves me, who cares and provides for me, who watches over and protects me, who guides me, who teaches me, who encourages me, who strengthens me, who comforts me, who corrects and disciplines me, who forgives me, who knows what's best for me, and who is so much more to me. This is my Father. :)

Knowing that I am the one who needs Him and not the other way around. It is by His grace and mercy, I am here today. And it is by His grace and mercy that I live each and every single day.

Lord, give me life in Your ways.

The rainbow God blessed us with on our final camp special night. It was beautiful :) A sign of God's covenant and faithfulness. Thank You, Lord, for Camp Cameron.

beauty that refreshes

we were saying we could photoshop some sheep into this picture and go on to say we went to New Zealand :)
Took a trip with the family (minus Yew Meng, tambah Jack) and went to Janda Baik to visit Kok Onn. The place there is pretty amazing - simple and beautiful :) I like!

Travel bunch :)
Our intended trip was a camping trip (sleeping in tents, start a camp fire and roast marshmallows, swim in the cold river, eat canned food kind of thing). But plans changed and we decided on a little more comfort. But we still did a bit of the intended. :)

Swim in the cold river - checked!
Swimming against the current was pretty fun and entertaining :D
Start a camp fire - checked!
No marshmallows though :\
Instead we used the fire to dry ourselves :P
That night, while Kok Onn and Yew Kong went into the jungles to catch lizards, Jack, Yew Leung and I took  the poncho, laid it on the ground and spent a good two hours on our backs looking up at the stars. There were so many many many of them - uncountable!

We believe we found the Big Dipper, Small Dipper and Orion's Belt (and Orion who is very tegap!) but after google-ing about them, I have my doubts :P haha. We tried to find the North Star and assumed we found it. We also saw a shooting star flash past us. Other than that, we munched on tiger biscuits and drank mineral water. There were one or two kelip-kelips in the nearby tree.

The beauty of God's creation is simply amazing. The creation reflects the Creator :) And indeed it echoes in my heart, "Who am I that the Creator is mindful of me?" and with that I am filled with thanks and gratitude that He is mindful of me and He does care for me.

And this beauty refreshes me.
(or maybe it was the cold river water's effect)

When I consider Your heavens,
the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which You have set in place,
what is man that You are mindful of him,
the son of man that You care for him?
Psalm 8:3-4

outside my palace walls

i sat on the steps, facing the blank wall which went around the compounds of Kuala Lumpur Gospel Hall (KLGH). that wall was tall, tall enough so that i could not see what was on the other side even when i stood at the top of those steps.

it was like that wall separated two worlds: the peaceful church grounds and the broken world outside on the streets of KL.

i sat there reflecting for a bit on the things i’d been exposed to the past few days; the refugees, the poor, the homeless. i thought about how we found it so irksome that the water got cut off before we could finish washing up the dishes, when clean running water was something many who were poor had no access to. the irony.

i thought about how my life was so comfortable. the roof over my head, the love of family and friends, more than enough food on our tables, pocket money i did not have to slave for, gadgets, the list goes on. my comfortable palace.

that morning’s devotion was about Queen Esther and what Mordecai said to her, “Don’t think for a moment that you will escape there in the palace when all other Jews are killed.” (Esther 4:13)  it was a message from Mordecai to not be indifferent to what happened outside those walls because it would affect her too. it was about how Esther was in a place of comfort yet she still had a role to play in saving the people outside of her palace.

i am 21 years old. all my life i’ve been sheltered, loved and cared for, protected. i’ve never had to fight for food or runaway for my life. but i need to remember, ‘it could be me’.

i thought to myself how ignorant and indifferent i had been to everything around me. SWEEP really opened my eyes. the real world was a very broken one.

i sat on the steps, the high walls before me.

picture taken from http://weheartit.com/entry/11076207

have i built walls around me that keep the unpleasant things of the world out of sight? that cause me not to see, not to know the pain behind these walls?

Lord, tear down these walls I’ve built.
Take me outside of these palace walls.
Use me in this broken world,
to make a difference – one life at a time.

priceless

the past one month plus since exams ended have been very eventful. starting with three weeks spent with the other PP’s (Pembantu Pelajar) otherwise know as orientation helpers.

the experience and relationships built were simply priceless and so very precious.

the first week of training was one that was bitter sweet. i remember asking if i had made the right decision to spend my holidays doing this. and i remember clearly what God said, “Give it your best.” Smile

i remember the late nights and early mornings. the constant soundings the seniors gave us. but we got through that and it taught us all to work together as a team and our friendships grew stronger.

248256_10150216034502235_638617234_7068716_2833286_n

the outdoor camp, for me, was when everyone really bonded, helped and aided each other. being thrown into a whole new environment was really great to help us learn that we needed each other. some were better in this and some were better in that. in the end, we all came together as one. Open-mouthed smile

249489_10150216034582235_638617234_7068718_5267115_n

the second week was our gerak kerja week. lots of work and preparations to be done for the coming orientation week. it was a lot more chilled and laid back as compared to the training week. and the amount of choki choki we consumed is mad! did a lot of dancing and cheering that week too. oh, i sprained my ankle too Sad smile and had to go to a chinese doctor who rubbed and pulled it. i almost lost my purse too in all the drama but thank God for kind hearted people who found it and returned it Open-mouthed smile.

241529_2070197640012_1396999174_32453910_2149395_o

as for orientation week, i was only there for half the week. cause i had a flight to Bali. but for the first half, it was a lot of early mornings and late nights again. and there was a lot a lot of students to handle! can’t remember but if i’m not wrong 900+? the hall was packed like a sardine can. didn’t really get to know many of them as i left pretty early. but the little bits of orientation that i was involved in, i enjoyed very much. oh, and i was part of the Biro Kesenian (or was it Kebudayaan?).

the PP’s also had a trip to langkawi after orientation week. unfortunately, it clashed with SWEEP 2011. (which will be another story to tell Smile)

we’ll be having another orientation coming up when the undergraduates come in in september. let’s see how that goes.

these people, memories and experiences were simply priceless. and i really thank God for allowing our paths to cross. I thank God for telling me to give it my best from the start and that truly gave the whole thing a lot of meaning and purpose.

love you all banyak-banyak Smile *HUGS*

i owe it to love you

PKVUM THE CAMP 2010

PKVUM T.H.E. CAMP 2010

30th October – 2nd November 2010

Highlands Christian Centre (HCC),

Cameron Highlands

it was a camp where lives were challenged to live out our faith and love for God. it was a camp where we learned the power and warmth of encouragement and of loving one another. it was a camp where we realised the importance of unity in the body of Christ with Christ as the head. it was a camp where we learned to see the needs of others instead of always looking at our own needs. it was a camp where Jesus’s Name was lifted high, where we sought God through worship and prayer. it was a camp where we were reminded of our purpose, of God’s love, of our call.

Heal my heart and make it clean

Open up my eyes to the things unseen

Show me how to love like You have loved me

Break my heart for what breaks Yours

Everything I am for Your kingdoms cause

As I walk from earth into eternity

(Hosanna, Hillsongs)

Lord, open up our eyes to the things unseen. break our hearts for what breaks Yours. cause our ears to be tuned to listen to Your voice. may we have courage and boldness to step out in faith for You, out of our comfort zones. help us to go that extra mile to love the people around us with Your love. Lord, we want to make a difference in our uni, UM, for You! Lord, I love UM. and I pray that you would cause me to love it even more day by day with Your extraordinary love, not my own limited love. ♥

Let no debt remain outstanding,

except the continuing debt to love one another,

for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.

Romans 13:8

because you loved me first, i love you.

because of this love, i learn to love the people around me.

cause we all need a break, sometimes.

hello.

so, i've gotten back all my results. and i'm not too pleased with them, i know i must must must work harder. but i thank God still. i guess despite me not being satisfied, there's a lot of His grace involved and also my insufficient last minute cramming (which was not sufficient).

i've had stuff going on since trials ended and also during the Hari Raya break. one of the reasons why malaysia is awesome - holidays! :D and i promised i'd update.

so, there was G-Force with the 'back row people' minus prarthini :( we went to the curve. we makan-ed, shopped, walked around, watched G-Force, walked around some more, chatted, karaoke-ed in those RM1 per song booths, and then kentrick and i left while michelle and rachel stayed on. all in all, i enjoyed the company :)

karaoke girls :) hahaha...

and michelle has an exceptionally good stamina when it comes to shopping while the three of us where slowing down..

kentrick, rachel and myself snapping away while michelle's in Nichii trying on clothes.
told you she had stamina while the rest of us got malas.

and then there was our trip to Zoo Negara, some PPBC-ian Youths & Rachael Wong's students (mostly younger students, like Form 1's). i've haven't been to the zoo in super duper duper long! some of the animals there look quite sad :( but some are looking pretty fine. the giraffes and elephants are by far my favorites, cause they're so friendly! :) the other animals all anti-social or are too far away. but i guess we won't want tiger, lions and alligators coming too close to us, would we. and i got to carry three snakes, a super tiny one, a tiny one and a big one :)

the baby python :) i like.

thank you brandon and rachael and all who helped plan and transport us there for the trip. i had lots of lots of fun :) though i was superr tired after the trip.

and then there was thePLAN09! the mission conference i mentioned, remember, remember? :) anyway, it was during the Hari Raya holidays and was held in Melaka. and it was beyond me, God is always beyond us anyway. i don't know why, but it was different from other camps i'd gone for. and the things God did was amazing.

on the mission side, you know how we kind of stereotype 'missions' to be going to some poor third world country or some ulu place in the middle of nowhere and telling them about Jesus, well it's more than that. it's bringing Christ in our lives wherever we go. whether you're in school, university, your workplace, out in the jungles, etc. wherever you are, bring God with you, bring God to the people around you who don't know Him yet. that's our mission.

not easy really. it's hard especially when you don't like the people sometimes. but God loves each and every single person, and Jesus died for everyone, the nice, not nice, good, bad, every single one, He loves. it starts with prayer, asking God to change our hearts to be like His, to fill our hearts with His love for the world. and as we do, we will change to be more and more like Christ, and hopefully we would be a generation of missionaries that belong to God.

on a personal basis, lots of humbling in my life. He revealed to me how proud and comfortable i'd gotten with life and how displeasing it was. it was very hurtful at first but it really showed me how much i need God. and He reminded me of my purpose for Him and rekindled His fire and passion in my heart.

oh, i pray that it's not just hype, but a point in my life where i go on from there walking closer to God.

besides that, met lots of people, new and old friends. heard amazing testimonies from people who've been involved in missions and also those who were save through missions, rested and refreshed my walk with God, enjoyed myself, enjoyed His presence. so, that's thePLAN09 in a nutshell. yes, there's more, more amazing things. but this will do, for now :)

and i pray that it will go on from here. not ending when camp ended, but that the PLAN which is God's PLAN will be worked out, lived out in our lives until Christ comes again.

next up, Joshua Tay's now in UKland, studying. but before he left last wednesday, we met up on friday morning. had dim sum and went for a random LRT ride. where we got a random idea. i'll let the video do the explaining :)

it was fun :) hope you're having a bomb of a time in UKland, Joshua!

and then later that day, i went for the GreenHouse BBQ. it went pretty well, i guess. sufficient amount of food and drinks. good company :) fire that started well, charcoal that burnt well, food that was cooked properly, marshmallows oh marshmallows :D didn;t snap to many pictures though, hand were oily. eee.

mun chien :) thank you for organizing this BBQ and all that you've done :)

di sern also helped start fires.
oh, and thanks for being GreenHouse's Awesome Captain :D

happy makan-ers :)

sureen, yong khang and i.
like i said, good company :)

and this di sern is funny.
see, mun chien asked me to mix the cordial and stuff for drinks and i took the limau cordial, and di sern shouted,
"EH! wait, don't! that's OIL!"

haha, oklahh, it does look like oil lah.
but his reaction was pretty funny.

smelled smoky at the end. heh.

i can't believe it's october already, another year is coming to an end. fast. and i guess i should really treasure the days i have in school with the people God has placed around me. cause i know, i'll miss it though i complain now. there's no Form 7 to come back to. haha.

but days in school are fun. haha, 1.40pm on monday seemed sooooo draggy, but 1.40pm tuesday, wednesday and thursday just came quickly and we always say "Eh, don't want to go home arr?"
time flies when you're having fun :)

it was kentrick's birthday on the 29th of September and we had a little something for him :) and the rest of the day was enjoyed together.

birthday boy.

happy birthday!

it was truly a fun day. did lots of silly things. see, rachel's calculator used to be studded with those shiny things. and she decided to strip them off that day. so we started pasting them on our faces, pretending they were nose studs and whatnots. and rachel took it to a whole new level.

haha!

those diamond things go swell with inky motifs on paper serviettes too :)

so, anyway...STPM calls.
i've got a study break for about one and a half weeks.

dear God, please help me to use my time wisely.

toughest subject for me at the moment :(

take care & God bless You :)
